EWG Volunteer opportunities

 Reception and Administrative Support

We offer free and low cost counselling support in our counselling right in the town centre of Wigan. We offer low cost and free counselling with multiple counsellors in our hub, we rely heavily on funding and volunteers to be able to offer these options to local members of the community who might otherwise find it difficult to find counselling and mental health support.

We are currently looking for a volunteer to cover our reception and waiting area during the week. This role will consist of greeting clients and counsellors, creating a warm and welcoming environment for those who are accessing support. Volunteers will also take payment from clients and may open up and lock up the centre with the counsellors at the end of the day depending on the shift.

We urgently need cover at the following times:

Tuesday mornings from 10am - 1pm
Tuesday afternoons from 1pm - 4pm

We are looking for someone who is warm and welcoming, someone who will pass a CRB check and can conduct themselves in a professional manner. Volunteers will need to be mindful of the confidentiality of our hub and those who we support. Volunteers need to be reliable in offering these times on a weekly basis (barring normal times off for holidays etc and personal affairs etc)

In return volunteers will have the opportunity to make a difference in peoples lives, being the welcoming face of their counselling experience and creating a warm and comforting environment for individuals who are going through a difficult time. You will also be part of a passionate and friendly team, with some optional social events and regular opportunities to chat and engage with others.

Please contact the hub manager Anna at ewgcounselling@gmail.com if you are interested in this opportunity.

We are currently looking for volunteer counsellors to support us in our expansion
of our service.

We have recently opened a new room in Wigan Town Centre and need counsellors to support local residence with general mental health or relationship difficulties. We will be offering a low cost option and ask clients to donate a minimum of £20 per session with reduced rate of £15 per session for individuals in receipt of Universal credit or carers allowance.

We are currently looking for a combination of experienced counsellors and student counsellors to support our
service over Monday - Thursday 10:30-8:30pm

Please email our service manager Anna at emotionalwellbeinggroupuk@gmail.com if you would like to enquire about these opportunities.
